Surah Quraysh

لِإِيلَـٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ
إِۦلَـٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ
فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ
ٱلَّذِىٓ أَطۡعَمَهُم مِّن جُوعٍ۬ وَءَامَنَهُم مِّنۡ خَوۡفِۭ

Surah Quraysh

1. For the taming of the Quraysh.
2. Their caravans set forth in the winter and in the summer.
3. So, let them worship the Lord of this House.
4. (He) Who has fed them against hunger, and has made them safe from fear.

General Tafseer

The Quraysh would gather during their journey in the winter to Yemen and in the summer to Ash-Sham through trade and other than that. Then they would return to their city in safety during their journeys due to the respect that people had for them because they were the residents of Allah’s sanctuary. Therefore, whoever knew them would honour them and travelled with them, would be safe because of them. This was their situation during the summer and the winter.
Allah will give the one who singles Him out for worship alone, safety both in this life and in the Hereafter. However, whoever disobeys Him, He will remove both of them from him.
