011 Question Two

This Ayat “ Let not those among you who are endued with grace and amplitude of means resolve by oath against helping their kinsmen, those in want, and those who have left their homes in Allah’s cause. Let them forgive and overlook, do you not wish that Allah should forgive you? For Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Ayat 22 of Surah An-Nur) was revealed during an event in Islamic history. The Ifk event is the event, when stories were fabricated against Aishah (Radhi Allahu Anha), and Allah Subhanahu wa Ta'ala cleared her by revealing some ayats. Then her father Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) took an oath that he will stop providing for his relative Mistah bin Athathah, whom he supported because of the part he played in spreading those lies. Allah Ta'ala revealed this Ayat and Abu Bakr (Radhi Allahu Anhu) resumed helping Mistah.
